Quantum Keynote on 4K Storage Deployments at the 2017 Creative Storage Conference

--Conference Registration Deadline is May 22, 2017--

San Jose, CA, April 4, 2017—David Frederick from Quantum will be a keynote speaker at the 2017 Creative Storage Conference (SM) (CS 2017).  Dave joins Lucas Wilson from SuperSphereVR as a keynote speaker.  The conference will be May 24, 2017 in Culver City, CA.  Submissions for presentations as well as sponsorships and exhibits are available.

You can register for this premier event at http://www.creativestorage.org/2017Register.htm.    The registration deadline is May 22, 2017.

David Frederick from Quantum will give a keynote talk titled:  Top Five Considerations for 4K Storage Deployments:  “Number 4 will shock you!”   Following is the talk abstract:

As facilities roll out 4K-capable shared storage systems for their workflows, they may quickly discover that there’s more to sizing a storage system for 4K than just adding up drive performance. Quantum will share the methodology and results of its recent comprehensive lab tests, which included six uncompressed and compressed formats and three drive types, including flash, across six different array configurations and three different client platforms. The findings highlight some of the misconceptions about storage performance for 4K workflows and video post-production storage in general. Quantum will provide valuable information that will save media companies both time and money in implementing 4K video storage infrastructure for their facilities.

Dave Frederick is the Senior Director of Media and Entertainment for Quantum Corp. For the last 30 years, Dave has focused on leveraging technology to improve media production and delivery. Since joining Quantum in 2014, he has been working to bring the benefits of multi-tiered, high-performance shared storage to use cases ranging from entertainment, corporate video, imaging, video surveillance and more. Dave’s approach: Infrastructure is important, but it must never come between the user and their applications.
